Nature Connection in the Classroom

Bring nature into the school day through hands-on, collaborative learning experiences designed for individual classrooms.

Nature Connection in the Classroom gives students opportunities to engage, reflect, and connect - both to the natural world and to themselves. Through real natural materials and engaging projects, students explore nature in ways that complement and extend in-school learning.

Experiences with nature support attention and well-being as they naturally invite curiosity, exploration, and wonder. Our lessons encourage students to observe, investigate, discover, and work collaboratively, drawing them into the softly fascinating details of the natural world. These moments of engagement with nature can help restore attention, reduce stress, support positive mood, and create opportunities for social-emotional learning that students can carry back into their learning and lives.

That experience continues beyond the program. Each student leaves with a Nature Challenge Card, offering a simple invitation to spend 60 seconds in nature paying attention, noticing, and inviting wonder. Extension materials and activities are also provided so educators can continue exploring with their students.

55% of students reported an increase in their sense of connection to nature after participating in a program.

Students told us the experience:

“Made me connect to prior knowledge.”

And gave them the opportunity to engage with:

“Actual [nature] and not just pictures.”
