Program Volunteer
Program Volunteers (18+) help deliver our programs on-site to youth, elders, and individuals with disabilities. Join us on the front lines bringing the natural world indoors to those who need it most. You’ll not only see and feel how the programs engage the participants and build their confidence, you will be the reason it happens.
Program Volunteers join us for a minimum of 24 hours throughout the year, meeting us at our program sites throughout Greater Boston and Middlesex County. We're flexible with how you distribute your volunteer time, as long as you hit the 24-hour mark within a year! Visit our Volunteer Sign-Ups page to find program sites near you.
Please note that programs occur during the week on Tuesdays – Fridays during the day, usually sometime between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. This is a great opportunity for those with a strong appreciation for nature and animals, and would like to share it with others. The Nature Connection requires and provides a volunteer training and a program observation, as well as a CORI/SORI check before assisting in program delivery.
If you’re interested in becoming a program volunteer, please submit our online volunteer interest form.
Please note: A minimum of 12 volunteer hours plus additional training and program clearance are required before volunteers may work with or share animals during programs. Some animals are staff-only and are not handled by volunteers under any circumstances.
