Volunteer Opportunities
At The Nature Connection, trained volunteers work alongside expert staff to deliver powerful, therapeutic nature programs.
We provide meaningful, accessible volunteer opportunities that support all aspects of our mission — from program delivery to animal care to behind-the-scenes logistics. Our volunteers receive thoughtful, hands-on training rooted in trauma-informed care, dementia-friendly practices, and person-centered engagement. Through their service, they become trusted partners in expanding access to the healing power of nature.
Volunteers help us extend our reach, deepen our impact, and demonstrate that with the right training and support, nature can be a truly transformative tool for individual and community wellbeing.

Program Volunteers (18+) help deliver our programs on-site to youth, elders, and individuals with disabilities. Join us on the front lines bringing the natural world indoors to those who need it most. You’ll not only see and feel how the programs engage the participants and build their confidence, you will be the reason it happens.

The Nature Connection seeks high school students who are 16+ years old to volunteer with us at our therapeutic nature-based programs over the summer. Join us in sharing the joy and wonder of our plants, animals, and seasonally-based natural materials with our program participants in nursing homes, memory care units, and day programs for elders and adults with disabilities.
