In Memory
Alexander Michael Belyea, Carol Anthony, and Ken Samoylenko

Carol Anthony

August 14, 1930 – August 17, 2020

Carol was an avid gardener. Summers always included a large vegetable garden and canning the produce grown on her land to be consumed over the winter. She was sure to plant “half runner” beans, copious amount of tomatoes, and her bread and pickles were a family favorite.

The last 50 years of her life were dedicated to the study of the I Ching, the ancient Chinese oracle. She explored the relationship between the invisible side of the Cosmos (from the Greek, meaning “the universe in its harmonious order”) and its manifestation in the visible world, known as Nature.

Alexander Michael Belyea

October 24, 1993 – November 6, 2017

Alex was happiest outdoors and in the presence of animals. He worked at a local horse farm and with tradesmen to learn the building trades. His friends and family remember his empathetic nature and how he reached out to people and animals in need.

Ken Samoylenko

Constantine (Ken) Samoylenko’s life was defined by his love for travel and nature. Ken was an avid lover of the outdoors. During the winter months you could find him skiing at his beloved Sugarloaf Mountain where he was a season pass holder until the age of 82. In his retirement he led skiing, hiking, biking and paddling trips for the Appalachian Mountain Club and travelled to many remote destinations from Kenya to the Galapagos.

His family and friends remember him as an outdoorsman and lover of the natural world and his legacy will live on through programs offered by The Nature Connection.
